From the founding of the Dallas office of SAMCO Capital Markets in 1988 to Commerce Street Holdings today.

1988

SAMCO Capital Markets

William D. "Tex" Gross established the Dallas office of SAMCO Capital Markets, laying the foundation for what would become Commerce Street Holdings.

1994

James B. Gardner Joins

James B. Gardner joined after four decades in banking, initially serving as Senior Managing Director of Investment Banking and Corporate Finance.

1996

Dory Wiley Joins SAMCO

Dory Wiley joined SAMCO and became a Managing Partner, bringing institutional investment expertise to the growing firm.

2007

Commerce Street Holdings Founded

On October 1, 2007, Tex Gross, James Gardner, and Dory Wiley spun out the asset management and investment banking practices from SAMCO and launched Commerce Street Holdings, LLC.

2013

Legacy Continues

After the passing of James Gardner in November 2013, Tex Gross and Dory Wiley continued as partners, developing new business practices for middle-market corporations and investors nationwide.

Continued Growth

Commerce Street Holdings has grown into a comprehensive financial services firm with investment banking, capital raising, investment management, and retirement solutions divisions serving clients across the country.
